Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Fried Sriracha Cheddar with Drizzled Honey Recipe

Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Fried Sriracha Cheddar with Drizzled Honey

We dare argue that nothing goes better with our Sriracha Cheddar than delicious, smooth local honey! Both pair very well in this recipe with crispy fried phyllo dough. It is so delicious that you’ll want to experiment with frying our other flavored cheddars, too. This recipe works well with any of them. 😉

4 Servings

Total Time: 20 Minutes

Gold Creek Farms Sriracha Cheddar, 6 oz.

4 Sheets Prepared Frozen Phyllo Dough, thawed

Olive Oil

1/4 Cup Local Honey

Toasted Sesame Seeds and Sliced Green Onion, optional garnish

Cut the block of Gold Creek Farms Sriracha Cheddar into 8 equal strips.

Before moving on, make sure you have your olive oil and pastry brush ready to go. You must work quickly with phyllo dough because it dries out and cracks quickly. If you bought a new pack for this recipe, you can wrap the remaining sheets in saran wrap and freeze for later use.

Lay out the phyllo dough and cut the sheets in half. Working with one piece of phyllo dough at a time, lightly brush with olive oil and fold in half. Place a strip of Gold Creek Farms Sriracha Cheddar along one of the shorter sides of the dough. Fold the ends up and over the cheese and roll into a log. Continue with the remaining cheese strips and phyllo dough.

Add about 1/2 an inch of oil into a medium skillet and heat over medium-high heat. When the oil reaches 325 degrees, add the phyllo wrapped cheese strips and fry until golden and crisp, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a metal cooling rack or paper towel-lined sheet pan to drain and cool slightly.

Serve the Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Fried Sriracha Cheddar with a drizzle of local honey, toasted sesame seeds, and sliced green onions.
