Chai Cheddar Grilled Cheese
The weather is cooling down, and everyone at the farm is thinking of sweaters, autumn leaves, and warm spices. This delicious grilled cheese is the perfect thing to celebrate the season, and it is a fun appetizer for a fall harvest party when sliced into bite sized triangles. 8 Slices of Whole Grain Bread
Gold Creek Farms’ Chai Cheddar, 6 oz. Shredded
Granny Smith Apple, Cored and Thinly Sliced
4 TBS Gold Creek Farms Fresh Butter
Spread each slice of the 8 slices of bread with an even, thin layer of onion jam. Place 4 slices of the bread on a work surface (jam side up). Top each with an even layer of thinly sliced apples and then top apples with shredded Chai Cheddar. Place remaining 4 slices of the bread on top (jam side down) and lightly press down each sandwich.
Heat 2 TBS of the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sandwiches and cook until the bread toasts and the cheese is slightly melted, 3 to 5 minutes. Flip with a spatula and add the remaining 2 TBS of the butter to the pan. Cook until the other side is toasted and the cheese is melted (about 3 minutes more) adjusting the heat as needed to keep the bread from burning before the cheese melts. Slice and enjoy!
